Matthew Baker D.C.

Dr. Baker has spent over two decades transforming lives through chiropractic care—a journey that began with his own pain. At just 13 years old, he suffered an injury that worsened over time due to sports, demanding manual labor jobs, and relentless strain.

When conventional medicine and low back surgery provided no answers, he found hope and purpose in chiropractic care. Determined to help others avoid the same struggles, he set out on a path to bring relief and healing to those in need.

Dr. Baker earned his doctorate from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City, Missouri, after completing his undergraduate studies at Northwest Missouri State University. With three years of postgraduate study under the mentorship of Dr. Christopher Rasmussen in New Albany, Indiana, he refined his skills and deepened his commitment to excellence. In 2009, Dr. Baker returned to his hometown of Maryville to establish his own practice, where his heart and mission found a permanent home.

Since opening his doors, Dr. Baker has poured his energy and expertise into helping patients overcome a wide range of challenges—from chronic pain and debilitating headaches to sports injuries, accident recovery, and spinal nerve issues. Each patient’s progress fuels his dedication, as he works tirelessly to restore their mobility, function, and quality of life.

Beyond the clinic, Dr. Baker is a devoted family man. He and his wife of 22 years, Jackie, share two daughters, Josie and Lily, with whom he shares a love for farm life. Whether it’s helping the girls show their cattle or enjoying the thrill of Kansas City Chiefs football in the fall, Dr. Baker embraces every moment with passion and gratitude, both at home and in his practice.

Office Manager

Jackie Baker

I’m the Office Manager at Baker Chiropractic and feel fortunate to work alongside my husband, Dr. Matt, every day. We have two wonderful daughters, Josie and Lily, and I’m originally from Shelby, Iowa—a place I hold close to my heart.

In my free time, I cherish moments with family and friends, cheer on the Chiefs at football games, tend to our farm and cows, volunteer for 4-H, and support my daughters with their show cattle projects. At the office, I handle just about everything except adjustments, making sure things run smoothly and efficiently. What I love most about my work is witnessing patients regain a pain-free life naturally, without the need for drugs or surgery. The family-like atmosphere at Baker Chiropractic is truly special, and being part of a caring and dedicated team makes every day rewarding.

I’m a Patient Care Coordinator from Lebanon, KS, happily married to my husband Matt, with two wonderful sons, Henry and Maxwell. In my free time, I enjoy doing just about anything with family, from fishing and golfing to watching baseball games, attending plays, and spending time with my sisters, nieces, and nephews.

At Baker Chiropractic, my role involves getting updates on patients’ conditions and sharing that information with Dr. Matt. I also document adjustments, teach exercises, and guide patients on the therapies they need. When possible, I assist with therapy and ensure the office stays clean and welcoming. What I love most about working here are the patients, the constant improvements Dr. Matt and Jackie bring to the practice, and my amazing, hardworking coworkers who have made me feel part of the team from day one. It’s a joy to be part of such a caring environment!

I’m a Chiropractic Office Assistant from Stanberry, MO, with a passion for spending time with family and friends, exploring new experiences, and enjoying the great outdoors. At Baker Chiropractic, my role is diverse—I help run therapy sessions, handle behind-the-scenes tasks like billing, and assist with anything my colleagues might need.

Chiropractic Therapy Assistant

Josie Baker

I’m one of the Chiropractic Therapy Assistants. I am Dr. Baker’s oldest daughter, so I grew up here in the office with mom and dad. In school, I am involved in FFA and am on the track team. At home, I enjoy feeding my cows every day.

I raise show cattle, and we attend cattle show competitions on the weekends through the spring and summer. In the office, I help coordinate patients in the therapy area. What I treasure most about my role is the chance to connect with patients on a personal level. I love engaging in conversations while they work on their therapies and witnessing their progress as they regain their health fills me with pride and a sense of purpose.
